Denver

Denver for the 4th of July weekend was great! Rydel flew out earlier so the kiddos and I were alone for the flight. Our plane was delayed 2 1/2 hours and we had to circle Denver airport for an extra 45 minutes. So, when we finally arrived the kids were glad to get out and run around and I was exhausted. When we got there, we went to a BBQ with some people that my husband works with when he works in Denver. Yummy food...gotta love BBQ's.
The next day we walked about 3 miles to take the kid's to REI which has a rock climbing wall in it. Well, whatdoyaknow, after all that walking, the rock climbing wall was closed. So, we noticed the aquarium was just down the road so we walked just a little further. Here are some pics.

This is my 3 kiddos hanging out with the fishies.

Kid #1 and kid #2 checking out some sharks.

Kid #3 preparing to go diving.

That night we went to the Colorado Rockies Baseball game. It was great and the Rockies won. They were playing the Arizona Diamondbacks. The kids had a blast, even little Kid #3 loved it. Then after the game came the fireworks. If you know me, you know how much I love fireworks. The display was the best I have ever seen. Soooo good.

The three boys watching the game with a friend.

Little one watching the game with her daddy.

The next day was the zoo..

On Sunday, we thought we would be all spiritual and go to Elich Gardens. Its a theme park. The have tons of water rides and good roller coasters.

They boys on the mini swing ride.
The girls on the mini air balloon ride.

Little one on the carousel...isnt she beautiful!!!

On Monday, Rydel had to work so I took the kids to the movies and we saw Ice Age 3. Good movie, expensive theater. Never go to a theater in down town Denver...10.50 matinee prices. Ouch. Anyway, the trip was a blast and I have a feeling we will be doing it next 4th of July too!

I just wanted to show off a picture of my HOT husband Rydel and thank him for all the hard work he has done for our family. He gets up early every morning and heads off to bring home the bacon. When he is home, he is a super dad and our children love him. Especially his little girl Kid #3. He is a good man, a hard worker and the smartest person that I know! I love ya babe!

Random Holiday Thoughts...

Wow. It has been a while. Well, my holidays were great! My daddy and brother came down to stay with us for christmas. It was a good time. We ate and ate and ate. It was awesome! I love Christmas food. Better yet, I love eating whatever I want cause hey, it Christmas.
Christmas morning, the boys (including Rydel) woke up at 5:45am. Yes, I know that doesnt sound too early but it felt early. Anyway, the boys were shaking they were so excited. Before we let them go down to see the tree and presents, my dad and brother wanted to be down there to see there faces so we had to hold them off for a little while. As soon as I gave them the ok, I have never seen them run so fast. It was a great thing to see. I love Christmas morning. We all were back in bed by 7:00. (not the kids of course)
A few days later, after my dad and bro were gone, our family went to Park City to spend the day. We went sledding at Gargoza Park...one word AWESOME!! The kids had so much fun. And Kid #1 even went down the big hill with me! What a brave little man. Then we went shopping, ok, I went shopping and Rydel took the kids to a toy store. Old Navy was having a huge sale and I got so many good deals. hahaha. That was a great day.
For New Years Eve, Rydel sis and family came over. We ate junk food and watched movies. Then we watched the ball drop and for those of you who were watching Dick Clark, I thought it was a little gross when his wife came on camera and gave him a big ole smooch. I mean, it was sweet..but a little gross. Anyway, it was a kick back sort of holiday season and I enjoyed (almost) every minute of it. On to 2009.

2 year old blues and the jazz

So my little princess, angel, kid #3 is now sleeping in her big girl bed. I tried to keep her in her crib as long as possible. I did pretty well considering she was in her crib for just over 2 years. But, alas, she figured out she could climb out of it and sneak downstairs. She has been sleeping in her big girl bed for about 5 nights now. Twice she actually stayed in bed and went to sleep. The other times she gets up and out a MILLION times. She also likes to take off her clothes and hang out nudy, completly destroy her room and pound on the walls. I love this age. Anyone have any tips? My sons both stayed in there big boy beds when they made the change.

p.s. Anyone catch the Jazz Games last night against the Nets?!?! I love that Sloan got ejected...haha. that was awesome! He was swearing the whole walk out of the stadium.

Guess where I was Saturday night?!?

I was here...

Yes ladies and gentlemen. I went to the New Kids on the Block concert. My 13 year old self was freaking out. It was a good time and a great concert. Half way through the show they performed on the 'B' stage which was right in front of me. I had no voice by the end of the night and I could not hear for several hours afterwards. Worth it.

By the way...I hate admiting this but I just have too. You know those old film clips of the beatles or whatever famous band...you have the girls crying and freaking out. I always thought those girls were crazy and silly. Saturday night, I became those girls. Ok, I didnt cry, but I was freakin out. It was a good feeling. I hope all can feel that someday. (I am such a nerd!)

Big girl

Today is kid #3's birthday. What a big girl! 2 years ago today I was in labor, ready to have my first daughter. Then she came and she is the most beautiful little lady imaginable. She is quite the little monkey, always climbing on everything she can. She is also very much a girl. She loves anything pink and anything princess. She also loves her some shoes! That was her first word...shoes. Happy birthday daughter! I love that you are in my family!

Cabin Fever.

So, a few weeks ago, as an end of the summer/family reunion thing. We went with Rydel's family to stay in a cabin in Island Park. It was fun fun fun! The first night we were there, we went to a dinner theater. The show was called Billy and the Sunshine Kid. Hillarious. If you ever get a chance to go to Island Park, go to the Playhouse at Macks Inn. Good stuff. The next day we went to see a waterfall. Here are some pics...

We also went fishing, swimming, and rafting. Here is a pic. of the 'grown ups' rafting...

The cabin we stayed at was beautiful and set smack dab against a lake. The sunsets were amazing. In this pic of my family, there was a small forest fire a little away from us. That is what the smoke cloud is from.

Here is a pic. of my kiddos eating watermelon with their cousins.

Overall, it was a great little getaway with lots of good memories. A good way to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall.

First day of school

Yesterday was Kid #1's first day of 1st grade and Kid #2's first day of kindergarten. Oh my, I am feeling old. They were so excited. All I heard all day was "is it time to go yet." Kid #1 insisted that he walk into the school all by himself so I said goodbye in the car as I dropped him off. Kid #2 would have been more than happy if I would have just dropped him off but this being his first day of school ever, I walked him in and snapped pictures along with all the other kindergarten mom's. He was patient with me then I kissed him goodbye he was like "see ya mom". Then he turned around and went to play. I was not really that sad. I was more looking forward to comming home and putting my toddler to nap and sitting in the silence. Oh what a great silence it was.
